One of the key challenges of the 21st century is the provision of food, fibre, and energy for a growing human population in sustainable agricultural production systems. We are aiming to identify strategies that reduce environmental impacts of agricultural production in China and globally.
Spatial modelling is becoming increasingly more important to answer questions related to environmental impacts resulting from agricultural expansion and other land-uses affecting agricultural production. We are interested in links between agriculture, infrastructure, protected areas, and voluntary sustainability standards. For more details on these topics, stay tuned.
Our work here is coordinated by Dr. Juan Li.
What is the potential of alternative diets to turn the tide on environmental impacts of agricultural production systems? Which diets hold the most promising opportunities? We are taking a new angle on evaluating different diets and the benefit for people and planet.
