China has experienced a rapid development in recent years. Nevertheless, the image of China is characterized by ideas and clichés, especially in the Western world. Our new book "China in the spotlight of the 21. century" edited by Tobias Loitsch provides unique perspectives on the topic written by politicians, researchers, investors, private sector and startup representatives.
Together with Prof. Mingqi Xie from Westlake's School of Life Science, I have written a chapter about "A western view on Westlake University's way to reform China's education system". We provide a brief overview of the Chinese education system and then introduce Westlake University’s core values and its vision to become the essential “bridge” to connect China with the West.
