The Global Environmental Measurement & Monitoring (GEMM) Initiative is an international project of Optica (formerly OSA) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU) to look into new technologies to measure greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air and water quality in Asia. A unique mix of 50 scientists, technologists and policymakers from across Asia -- representing academia, industry and government -- present and discuss advances in environmental monitoring and measurement and the key challenges for policymakers and industries.
Tom was invited to present our work on AI-based embedded ecosystem monitoring as part of the China delegation in Singapore to advance environmental monitoring work in China. The lab is very much looking forward to being part of this exciting endeavor.
