In our recent paper in Trends in Ecology and Evolution led by Teja Tscharntke we summarize recent evidence that organic farming is not the silver bullet to large scale sustainable agriculture. Instead measures to diversify cropland on field and landscape level and reduced field size can multiply biodiversity while sustaining high yields in both conventional and organic systems.
In our new article "Restoring biodiversity needs more than reducing pesticides" we argue that benefits from reducing pesticides in organic farming may not outperform various diversification measure.
