Our lab was honored to participate in the 1st Latin American Technical and Scientific
Conference of Cacao, hosted by MOCCA, and held online past week. During two days, renown scientists and stakeholders across the Americas discussed advances in cocoa research and implementation strategies to strength the regional cocoa sector. The conference consisted of exciting sessions such as genetics and breeding, pest management, climate resilience, digital solutions, and market sustainability.
Manuel Toledo-Hernández, postdoc in the lab, shared our research on cocoa agroforestry
systems and pollination services that we are advancing at Westlake University. Manuel also used the opportunity to build collaborations with research institutions, companies and organizations in Latin America's emerging cocoa regions.
